Corruption of a Minor
After CHURCH today (so, not too, too bad in the corruption department), I took my nephew (taking Pre-College classes at RISD this summer) to one of my favorite haunts: The Seekonk Speedway Flea Market. Good to get them indoctrinated while they're still young, I always say.
First, my gets:
Dog in a shoe pencil sharpener, $1.
Some really great cola coolers that were at the sale... didn't buy; just took photos.
Now, the Nephew's purchases:
REALLY HEAVY Army trunk (not shown), $10.
Keys, $9.

These wonderful photos, way more than what I'm showing here, $10.

Above, left: One of his fave photos. Above, right: One of my faves.

We loved the guy in the first photo, who is so obviously sucking in his gut for the camera. Nephew says, "Look at his tan line!" Later he observes, "People back in the olden days didn't have abs."
We caption the second picture, "We Had to Get Married."
Great textures in the third photo: chair, rungs of chair, grass.
The last photo is Nephew's favorite. I see his point: it's kinda mysterious.
I caption the first picture: "I'm In This Photo, Too!"
The last picture I call, "Meet Me By the Poison Ivy. Love, Itchy Ankles", much to the amusement of my nephew.
If he had not been with me, I doubt I would have taken the time to sort through all these photos at the booth, and I would have missed out on a good time laughing & making silly comments.
Nephew says, "It's a good thing we don't have a flea market near us, otherwise, I'd have so much junk!" (Oh, yeah, I know that feeling!)
Secretly delighted when he said, disappointedly, "Oh, only one aisle left!" (know that feeling too), when he was drawn to black & white things (he says, "They're just so... opposite...") & to weird hats. Nice to discover how much you have in common with someone you once fed a bottle to. (Last week.) (Kidding.)
Final tally:
Aunt Meg: $6.
Nephew: $29.
Nephew wins!!!

How lovely - what fantastic photographs !
And what fun, thank you for sharing.
