Freaky Every Day
In greeting cards, "every day" cards are the ones that say "Hello", "Congratulations", "Thank You", "Best Wishes", "Get Well Soon", "Keep in Touch", etc.
It's for this very reason that I'm calling the every day line of the side show cards "Freaky Every Day".
It was a natural.
Here are just two:
The birthday card above with Ping & Pong has a back story to it.
Back in 1973 (I'm guessing), my sister gave my brother a book called Very Special People by Frederick Drimmer.
The book had a whole host of human marvels in it, including the famous Siamese twins, Chang & Eng, but the best part about this oddball gift was that she inscribed it, "Happy Birthday to a Very Special Person".
It's one of those things that became a family joke, so I had to pay tribute to that.
The concept & design of these puppets and their stories are the property of Megan E. Jeffery.

Amber:
I intro'd him briefly here:

But you're right, he hasn't received the same amount of fanfare as the other guys.
All this will be corrected when SURTEX is over.

I don't think we were formally introduced to the white guy

Nice...I've seen black, blue, green before but never the yellow and pink. Yes, know what you mean about little ball eyes vs. the oval/round ones.

I think I got these thru S&S Worldwide (ssww.com), they were in a mix of various colors of small googly eyes with the small ball centers -- as opposed to the ones with circle centers.
You're an connoisseur of googly eyes, Dave, you'll know what I mean.
But now, looking at S&S's website, I don't see this variety.
S&S also used to have (and again, I'm not finding them today) packs of OVAL googly eyes that contained black, blue, and pink eyes.
Here are some other pink eyes from them, in a bunch of diff. sizes, though:

Other creatures that'd look good with pink or red eyes: white bunnies; white mice; drug addicts.

Thank you Danielle, I feel so touched & encouraged by your comment!
SURTEX is a big art licensing show, so I would love for a company (Target, are you listening?) to want to license my work, produce it, and be responsible for making it available to the retail world.
We'll see what happens! :-)

:O) Megan, I LOVE your greeting cards. Do you have any for sale or all they all for the Surtex show? I love Albino guy, and the Stear head and Bessy Lou. I want to buy the whole collection. Thanks for sharing. Danielle
