Sorry for the lapse in blogging -- computer "issues" were to blame, but now that those are resolved, on with our show!
Here's HOOPER, the "barrel man" that was needed to complete the rodeo clown trio -- I talked about them here.
Hooper was more than happy to help out his old pals Clem and Sgt. Glum, so he packed his bag and rounded up his rather impressive barrel collection, and moved into town.
Hooper is based on the famous rodeo clown Luke "Leon" Coffee -- picture here; more info here. Since I knew I had to make a barrel clown, when I found the green cowboy hat at the flea market a number of months back, I knew who'd be wearing it!
Came up with the name Hooper because it's the old-fashioned term for "cooper", which means "a maker or repairer of casks and barrels". I couldn't call him Cooper, because that's the name of my cowboy puppet, but Cooper & Hooper will definitely have to have some adventures together.
Made Hooper a barrel to jump into when the bull (or buffalo!) gets too close. In bull-riding, they have a "Man in the Can" award -- that's just great.
